Vrindaban, a devotional encounter

‘His face was more beautiful than millions upon millions of moons, and His teeth were like pomegranate seeds because of His chewing betel.’

This last year, with the River Yamuna very high from profuse monsoon rains, a few devotees and I decided to travel from Vrndavana to Mathura by boat.  A trip of a lifetime for Rs 800=.

This, the Kesi Ghat, is the beginning of the journey.   

Most of the scenery along the way was akin to this.  A peaceful countryside, low growing trees and shrubs.

 I am sorry to say that I don’t remember this devotee’s name.  I met her on this day.  One of my traveling companions.

 Aditi Dasi.  A nice German devotee and long time friend of mine.

 Bhaktin Anna.  A very good singer and dancer.  She commented to me one day that people in the material world were willing to settle for so little.  It stayed in my mind.

 Vrajasevaka Dasi.  A brijbasi.
